We love road trips, especially to picturesque vineyards in Michigan during harvest season.  Amanda and Mike must agree, because they held their wedding at Willow Harbor Vineyard early last fall and it was spectacular!

The intoxicating aroma of grapes filled the air as we arrived at the Vineyard, keeping the bees happily distracted.  The Willow Harbor Vineyard is privately owned, and the cluster of buildings surrounded by fields of grapes felt intimate and comfortable.  Amanda chose to do finish her preparations in Willow Harbor’s Brides Cottage, which was filled with girly antiques and a large, ornate mirror that was perfect for those last-minute dress adjustments.

Amanda and Mike exchanged vows under a French pergola on the edge of the pond, surrounded by family and friends.  After the ceremony, guests spread out between the two bars at the Polo Vineyard Pavilion and the Biscaya Patio Cigar Bar for the cocktail hour while we took advantage of the ripening grapes and evening sunlight.

The reception kicked off under the towering tent in the Polo Vineyard Pavilion as dusk fell.  Twinkle lights in mason jars lined the pathway from the tent to the barn, where the kids enjoyed pizza and games.  Back in the tent, the band tempted guests out onto the dance floor with classic rock hits.  And Amanda and Mike had arranged for a Corky’s hot dog cart to be set up outside the tent by the fountain for guests who were craving a late-night snack to wander out and enjoy.

We had a fantastic time at the Willow Harbor Vineyard – the grounds were incredible and we left with an intense craving for a PB&J sandwich.  We hope to bring Joshua Albanese Photography back again soon!
